Janet just had completed a Kitchen tear-down and Reno. The kitchen was on Janet’s list for 3 years. She had it done once before but at that time there was a peninsula chopping up the room and the original cupboards were just sanded and re stained. This time she wanted the total kitchen gutted so that she could start with a new room and totally design it (with the excellent help of MacLean’s Kitchens) to do what she wanted it to do. When the kitchen renovations were done, Janet realized she needed some really unique window coverings that would compliment the black and white kitchen theme and not compete with our granite counter tops that she had picked out because of the uniqueness of the veining. Black & White - that was the theme that Janet wanted to keep. Selecting the perfect fabric that would make a statement without overpowering the gorgeous countertops was extremely important. Keeping the window treatment style sleek and simple, yet very functional for access to the backyard was equally important. When you walk into the room, the back wall with the garden doors are now dressed with fabric and shades that draw you eye to all the beautiful elements of the new kitchen. The custom built cornice boxes and side panels give the room a finished look, and the automated HunterDouglas Pirouette Shades provide privacy and light control when needed, or tuck up and away discretely. Janet is pleased & impressed, “Wilma showed me how to keep the black and white theme going with my blinds and curtains but more importantly was able to come up with a solution for the valance that would not only complement the granite but was able to make the room tie in even more spectacularly. This along with the automation of the blinds has given us the look and the element that finished off this kitchen beautifully.” - Going Forward:
