Room of the Month – September 2016
Happy Homeowners, Bowmanville
Our wonderful relationship with these homeowners goes back a while. We were so excited to be able to work with them again and to help their next project come true!
Sensational Solutions:
They originally had two rooms that were separated by a wall in between. To open up the space, they took out the dividing wall but this left the rooms still feeling like two different ones. So the next priority was to decorate in a way that made it feel like one unified room.
The inspiration all came from the beautiful paintings in the room that featured bright red colours.
Wilma enjoyed creating drapery panels that had intricate pleat detailing with button accents. The other four windows were dressed with custom valances in the same fabric to unify the space. An area rug was custom made to suit the space and span the two rooms. We took the same leaf image in the drapery and featured it in the same colours in the rug. Choosing patterns for the cushions was a real treat! The homeowners trusted us to make pillows in the patterns and colours that we felt would work best in the space and they were thrilled! How exciting to surprise homeowners with pieces that they will love!
To top it all off, we chose to reupholster the furniture because the size and the comfort was perfect for the client, but the chairs still needed refreshing. So we picked a vibrant fabric for it to create a cozy corner and to coordinate with the rest of the colours in the room. We also refinished the end table and coffee table to help it go well with the rest of the room and to give it a fresh new look.
Point of View:
“Wilma is so easy to work with and seems to know what we like. You put our thoughts into colour.”
