Room of the Month - October 2020
Barb & Orv, Orono
Point of View:
"We didn't even know the automatic blinds existed... It's better than having cords and has made our life easier..."
Sensational Solutions:
- Why Wilma was called in:
Orville & Barbara have lived in their home a long time and knew that their window treatments needed a change. The windows faced north and not a lot of light entered into the room, even though the window was large. They were used to having a blind they would close for evening privacy, sheers over top for daytime filtering, and a fabric valance.
Since they are spending more and more time at home without the ability to travel anymore, this couple wanted to freshen up and brighten up their home, and enjoy the place that they are spending most of their time now.
They didn't know who to call for window treatments and saw the Sensational SEAMS ad in the Village Voice Flyer. They picked up the phone and called Wilma. - The Sensational Solution:
"She came in and explained everything, from new fabrics and drapery styles to new sheer blinds with a clear view. We didn't even know the automatic blinds existed, never even thought about going with a remote control. Now that we have it, we really like it...it's beautiful! Jamie and Wilma set up the remote to where we want the blinds to move, and are so glad she suggested it."
With the addition of soft drapery side panels, there is no need to pull heavy cords or crawl in behind the furniture to open and close the drapery. It's a custom wave-look panel with beautiful details and a decorative, modern rod that replaces the old valances. It really opens up the room and allows lots of light to enter in. The three-in-one Hunter Douglas Silhouette Shades offer ultimate light control with new "Clear View", UV Protection and privacy all in one shade, and controlled all at the touch of a button. "It's better than having cords and has made our life easier. After the installation was completed and they left, we experimented with it for ourselves. Nice! Beautiful! It's like it's been there forever!" - Going Forward:
After the installation was complete, the old table cloth just didn't seem to go anymore, so a co-ordinated tablecloth is the finishing touch to the room, giving Barb a fresh, new look to her Dining Room.
